Covid UPDATE March 1, 2022

Beginning March 1, 2022,  wearing a MASK isOPTIONAL at the Dojo.  It is the Student’s/Parent’s responsibility  to determine whether a mask is worn based on their own personal/family medical situation.

June 2, 2020

STUDENTS AND PARENTS:   After the Covid  lock-down we are pleased to be able to re-open the Dojo  on Tuesday June 2, 2020.  For those of you who have been training at home during the shutdown, your time at home counts towards your time in rank for promotion to your next higher belt. Also, for those who paid for the whole month or March, you will have ½ month credit.

When we  re-open, we will be following all the CDC guidelines for our industry, including keeping a distance of at least 6 feet from each other. This will be challenging, but with everyone’s help and cooperation, it is workable.  Some of the changes that we will be following are:

  • For the protection of yourself and others....Sensei will be wearing a mask, and requests that all persons entering the dojo also wear a mask.  We have grandparents (including Sensei) and parents coming to the dojo who are at high risk for bad consequences of this virus. Please be considerate of others and bring/wear your mask.
  • Students and parents should be mindful of maintaining the 6 foot spacing distance between each other, especially at the entrance/exit door (if you see someone coming down the exit ramp, please wait until he/she has cleared the walk area).
  • Once we re-open, we will be limited to the number of people within the building so students should not bring non-essential visitors or spectators. However, students who are too young or do not have the ability to follow the 6 foot Social Distancing Guideline should have a parent or responsible person with them to help supervise the student to maintain the proper distance from others.
  • Seating will not be available in the entrance/sales room. It will be difficult to maintain the 6 foot social distance in that small area.
  • Markers will be provided on the training floor 6 feet apart for student separation while training.
  • Sparring and any other activity where students have contact will be discontinued at this time until we are allowed to return to normal training.
  • Students will not share training weapons (please bring your own weapons for weapons katas).
  • No grouping of individuals within the dojo at any time.
  • Counters and common touch areas and the restroom will be sanitized before each class.
  • Please stay home if you are showing signs of Covid-19 or have tested positive for Covid-19 or have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19.
  • Sensei placed the hand sanitizer on the counter to the right as you come into the door. Please sanitize your hands upon entry.
  • We understand these protocols are much different than the norm. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope one day soon we can resume normal training.  It is our goal to keep our dojo safe for our students and parents.
  • Please see below for additional instructions for your specific class.

Class Hours – Tues & Thurs

Beginner Class

White/Yellow/Orange Belts   6:00-6:55 pm

To allow for sanitizing time between the two classes, the Beginner class will last 55 minutes. Students from this class will need to leave immediately after their class so they will not be passing students coming for the second class.  If parents or students need to pay for classes, please do so before the class starts.

Advanced Class

Blue & Above Belts   7:00-8:00 pm

Students and parents should wait in their vehicle or outside from the entrance/exit door to allow for the Beginner class to exit.  The advanced class will start at 7 pm.   If parents or students need to pay for classes, please do so after your class.
